The UBC campus has lots of coffee bars, plenty of places fit for a student budget and a few refined dining options. For some of the best restaurants in Vancouver head out to West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano which is less than 10 minutes away from the UBC campus.

Shopping

West 4th Avenue is boasts independent stores and boutiques. Closer to home, both the Museum of Anthropology and the Botanical Garden have a gift shop.


After hours

     › The area around UBC is a haven for golfers. The University Golf Course right on the edge on campus is the most convenient course. For a change of scenery, the public golf courses of Fraserview and McCleery are located just 8km south east of the campus.

     › The Museum of Anthropology is one of the best places in Canada to view aboriginal art.

     › For quiet walks there’s UBC Botanical Garden, Nitobe Japanese Memorial Garden or Pacific Spirit Regional Park which wraps around the university grounds. The park features more than 70km hiking trails through forest and along the shoreline. Popular beaches along the Pacific Regional Park coastline include Spanish Banks and the clothing-optional Wreck Beach.
